The Innovation Initiatives Programme kicks-off in Mwanza

ILEMELA-based Vipaji ni Elimu Organisation has participated in innovation exhibitions to unveil innovators and employment opportunities in Lake Zone.

The exhibitions were held at the Bank of Tanzania University of Finance here yesterday where by different startup innovators gathered to showcase their technology.

Vipaji ni Elimu Organisation Chief Executive Officer (CEO),  Mr Pardon Modest displayed his own made guitar which used local technology.

According to him he made such initiative in order to create employment for himself and other people.

“I have been training people how to play a guitar and how to make them so that they can also benefit from the knowledge through self employment,”

the CEO said.

He noted that he developed the interest of making the guitar through his father who was a radio repairer.

The exhibitions were organised by Clouds Media Groups to unveil such innovators and various opportunities available in the area.

On his part, Clouds Media Groups (CMG), Associate Public Relation Officer, Mr Emilian Mallya said CGM focuses on unveiling opportunities and creating friendly environment for all Tanzania innovators to sale their technology to the world of which will help to  speed up development in the country.

“We have launched this year’s innovation initiative programme with Mwanza being the representative of the Lake Zone where we shall take the overall zone’s winner to national innovation tournament level that shall be held in Dar es Saalam,”

he said.

He said the winner will be funded and moved to Dar es Salaam for incubation to help him grow.

Mr Mallya further said that, winners from all zones will be incubated under the monitoring of Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) for capacity building and later on run their own businesses.

The 2022 CMG innovation initiatives program is themed ‘Fiesta Lianzishe Innovation #FursaMia2022’ is the national wide innovation movement that aims at promoting and advocating for innovation as the means of creating employment opportunities to all innovators.
