Tanzania Commission for Universities(TCU) Extends Registration Window

Students who did not get an opportunity to apply for further education now have a reason to smile after the Tanzania Commission for Universities extended the deadline.

Speaking to journalists on Saturday at the TCU offices in Dar es Salaam, the TCU Executive Secretary, Professor Charles Kihampa said after completion of the third window of registration, they decided to open a fourth window due to public demand.

“The Commission received requests for extension of the registration exercise, especially from Tanzania Higher Learning Institutions Students Organisation (TAHLISO), so we decided to open a fourth window which will run from today (13th of October) to 24th of this month,”

he said.

He said apart from TAHLISO, the Commission received requests for extension from students who were not able to utilise the three previous registration windows and higher learning institutions which still have vacancies in their programmes.

“TCU wishes to inform the public, higher learning institutions and stakeholders of higher education inside and outside of Tanzania that admission in all three phases for First Degree level in higher learning institutions in the country for the academic year 2023/ 24 is complete,”

Prof Kihampa told journalists before announcing the extension.

He informed the public that the names of successful candidates in the third window will be announced by the responsible institutions, saying that those who have secured admission in more than one higher learning institution, their names have been announced through the official TCU website, www.tcu.go.tz.

Prof Kihampa said from October 13 to October 17th, students will use the time to register in the fourth window, from 21st to 22nd October the institutions will present the names of registered students to the Commission and on the 25th October the institutions will announce the names of successful candidates of the fourth window.

He cautioned interested students to be aware of conmen who pose as agents, claiming to assist in the registration process, because TCU does not have agents anywhere.
