The National Maulid Day Celebrations to Be Held in Dar

The celebration to mark the birth of Prophet Mohammed [Peace Be Upon Him], Maulid, is scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam at Mnazi Mmoja grounds at the national level.

A statement issued by the National Muslim Council of Tanzania (Bakwata) and signed by its Secretary General, Sheikh Nuhu Mruma on Thursday said that the celebrations would start on Saturday evening until Sunday.

Sheikh Mruma revealed that the celebrations will be followed by Maulid Council which will be held at Diamond Jubilee Hall at 2 pm on the same day.

The guest of honor is expected to be President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

According to the statement, Sunday October 8, 2022 will be a public holiday.

“Mufti of Tanzania Sheikh Abubakar Zubeir on behalf of Bakwata wish all Muslims a happy Maulid celebration and happy holiday,”
said Mruma
