Tanzania: Over 1.3m Standard 7 Pupils to Sit for Final Exams Tomorrow


A total of 1,384,340 pupils are expected to sit for their Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) for the year 2022 from Wednesday.

This was announced in Dar es Salaam by the acting executive secretary of the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) Athumani Amasi on Tuesday adding that the exams will be conducted in two consecutive days, (5th to 6th of Oct, 2022).

The candidates who will be taking part in the exams are from 17,943 schools.

Out of all candidates, 661,276 (47.77 per cent) are boys and 723,064 (52.23) per cent are girls.

He also mentioned six subjects which will be involved as Kiswahili, English, Science and Technology, Mathematics, Social Knowledge and Work Skills, Citizenship and Ethics.

“Preparations for the exams are completed including the distribution of examination papers, special exam papers and all-important documents related to the exam in all councils and municipalities,”
he said.

Meanwhile, he warned headmasters, district education coordinators, school owners, school owners and all other coordinators not to involve themselves in any cheating schemes in the exam and that measures will be taken against anyone who is found with such allegations.
