NBC Premier League sides Tanzania Prisons and Singida Big Stars have been slapped with a one window transfer ban for breaching player transfer regulations.
A statement released by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) states on Friday that the suspension has been imposed by Players’ Legal and Status Committee of the federation.
It says the committee has made the verdict in accordance with Article 47(21) of the Premier League after being found guilty and that the suspension will be enforced for one transfer window.
“Tanzania Prisons signed goalkeeper Musa Mbise from Coastal Union while aware that he had a valid contract with the club.
“Likewise, Singida Big Stars recruited goalkeeper Metacha Mnata from Polisi Tanzania when his contract at the club was still active,”
reads part of the issued statement.
The committee has since reminded all clubs in the country that signing of players is fulfilled by adhering to regulations hence those which will breach the available regulations shall be punished accordingly.
