President Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to officiate the commemoration of 10 year since establishment of National Defense college (NDC) on Thursday.
Former President Jakaya Kikwete is equally expected to be a keynote speaker at the college’s first alumni convocation.
This was revealed by NDC’s commandant Major General Ibrahim Mhoma when briefing members of the press in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday saying the Head of State will join the celebration of the college that has played a unique role in offering security and strategic courses to Tanzanians and other African countries.
“President Samia will be our guest of honor where she will get a chance to hear brief report of NDC’s functions and people reached to assure peace, not only for Tanzania but also to other African countries,” said the Commandant
Elaborating on some of the milestones attained by NDC he said a total of 435 officers from security organs and public servants have for the past ten years graduated from NDC diploma and master’s degree programmes in security and strategic studies.
“The president will as well receive the report on how NDC has grown to become a beacon of peace in East Africa and Southern Africa through admitting and training members of security organs and public servants from those countries,” he said.
